A Yom Tov
A wedding
A bar mitzva
There will always be something preventing you from staying consistent with your exercise routine
Without consistency, you’ll struggle to see results
Consistency is the foundation that pays off in the long run
It’s the steady drip of water that carves out the hardest stone
It’s the repeated actions over time; however insignificant they may seem, that lead to profound and lasting change
So how do YOU stay consistent with such a busy and often unpredictable schedule?
𝟭. 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝘀𝗺𝗮𝗹𝗹
Don’t overdo it
Build momentum before you increase the intensity.
Enthusiasm is great…
But if its disguised as fanatical delusion it will do more harm than good
𝟮. 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗹𝗲 𝗶𝘁 𝗹𝗶𝗸𝗲 𝗮𝗻 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁
Treat your workouts like that important meeting or 9pm chavrusa.
It simply must happen!
If you need to, set a reminder, but by all means get it done!
𝟯. 𝗙𝗶𝗻𝗱 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗲𝗻𝗷𝗼𝘆
Consistently doing something you hate would be like shooting yourself in the foot
What’s your thing?
Is it running? strength training? cycling? squash? football?
It's got to be a fun and rewarding experience if you are going to stick with it
𝟰. 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀
Nothing boosts motivation more than seeing progress
Whether it’s tracking your steps, your PBs in the gym or your best running time; having measurable metrics in place and celebrating progress is essential for long term success
𝟱. 𝗕𝗲 𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗳!
Consistency does not mean perfection
That wedding, bar mitzva, or business event is just round the corner
You can’t let it derail your progress
When you find yourself straying from your diet or your workout routine, dust yourself off and get back on track!
Give it some time, effort and consistency and your health and fitness routine will become second nature to you!
Keep showing up day after day and the results will come!
